  2. A visual representation of each step of cluster formation.
  3. Each horizontal line corresponds to a case. Each vertical line corresponds to a different solution. Cases connected by a vertical line belong to the same cluster at that step.
  4. This is especially useful when there are a large number of cases, so that a vertical icicle plot might not fit across a single page.
